Islands are special places. Cut off from the rest of the world by smaller or larger amounts of water. Unlike on the mainland and especially in big cities, one cannot escape the community, one is dependent on each other. Different interests have to find compromises or at least tolerate each other in everyday life. Three islands underwent a transformation that divided their inhabitants: Over the construction of a nuclear power plant, over the use of deadly poisons in agriculture, and over the destruction of natural habitat by industry.
After research at home and abroad I combine observation, sound, image, video, wood, print and drawing in basis for an artistic interpretation.

The work on 3 islands was and is funded by Neustart Kultur (2022) and Kunststiftung NRW (2023).
